SS24 Collection

Ashley Lloyd is pleased to announce the launch of his SS24 collection titled ‘Maroon 3.0.’ The collection explores the Maroon tribe and the fierce, empowering female leader nanny of the Maroon’s. Delving into my family heritage to explore the narrative I pay homage to not only the cultural, social and historical elements; but utilizing conceptual elements throughout this ready to wear collection. This collection depicts the true strength, courageousness, and feminist views of the black woman.

The past year has been a whirlwind for South London designer Ashley Lloyd. With unforgettable press from Wonderland Magazine, Showstudio, the Sun and many more for our Fal Winter collection “why do I feel oppressed as a black gay man”. Working at Gareth Pugh on projects such as Beyonce’s Renaissance tour and Lady Gaga’s Chromatica Ball. Whilst finishing his MA in Fashion design management at London College of Fashion.

The silhouettes depict a strong, hard shell of armour with asymmetric lines, metal detailing, pintucking signifying  the narration of the Maroon warrior. exaggerated shoulders, 3d panelling, fabric manipulation and our in house hybrid print design along with embellishments enhance the look and style of each collection to give a luxury feel to the hard edgy exterior of the garments. A monochromatic colour palette with elements of muted nudes and browns finalise the collection setting a striking and memorable tone throughout.

Ashley Lloyd is all about empowering women and in-lighting their inner superhero. Ashley Lloyd has stated himself that his creativity came from humble beginnings, growing up in a single parent household, seeing his mother work endlessly to provide. This strength his mother obtained was Ashley’s fuel to light the world on fire with creations that portrayed this ultimate strength. Ashley Lloyd said “my pieces are like armour; they give women a protective layer to fight against any battels they may face on their daily journey. Women have to work twice as hard as men especially in a world which only recognizes the man. I wanted to provide all women the comfort and strength to get through any obstacles, looking chic and elegant whilst doing so.
