Ashley Lloyd Int is delighted to announce the re-launch of his online store and release of his SS21 collection scheduled for the 7th July 2021 titled, ‘Why do I feel oppressed as a black gay man’. The collection explores the harsh realities of being a black gay man, growing up in a world which consistently attempts to oppress and control every fiber that is the black, the gay, the man. The use of semiotics throughout the collection identifies emotions such as freedom through the use of peacock feathers, rope which displays the feeling of being restricted and bound, faux snake leather representing the shedding of skin and life, whilst the use of latex reflects the rebirth of the soul. To honour this special occasion the brand delights our palette with a refurbished website and exclusive accessories and offers.

Born and raised in South East London, of Jamaican heritage. Ashley Lloyd is the creative director and C.E.O of his independent ready-to-wear brand Ashley Lloyd International, which he started in 2012 after completing a costume design course with an infamous costumier house Prangsta, in London.  Whilst developing his own brand, Ashley Lloyd did not shy away from intaking credible knowledge from the fashion industry, placing his foot in multiple channels to gain a deeper understanding of all aspects of the industry. This included working for one of the largest modelling agencies in London ‘Bookings Models’ and styling/dressing for London Fashion Week womenswear collections. This determination and work ethic lead to the brand receiving global recognition featuring on ITV, VH1’s love & Hip Hop, London Fashion Week and the BBC along with British rapper Lady Leshurr, and actress Eden Duncan Smith from the blockbuster hit movie Annie sporting some of the pieces from the London based brand. Ashley Lloyd has since gone onto further studies at London College Of Fashion, working on his craftmanship of womenswear garments and love for the arts.

Ashley Lloyd Int pride themselves on being animal friendly and inclusive ensuring that all products and materials used evoke this. His brand message is all about empowering women and in-lighting their inner superhero. Ashley Lloyd has stated himself that his creativity came from humble beginnings, growing up in a single parent household and seeing how hard his mother worked to provide. This strength his mother obtained was Ashley’s fuel to light the world on fire with creations that portrayed this ultimate strength.

Ashley Lloyd said “my pieces are like armour; they give women a protective layer to fight against any battels they may face on their daily journey. Women have to work twice as hard as men especially in a world which only recognizes the man. I wanted to provide all women the comfort and strength to get through any obstacles, looking chic and elegant whilst doing so”.

Ashley Lloyd Int re-launch and preview of their latest collection on the 7th July 2021 will be the first collection released in over 3 years and will be a day to remember, you may want to buckle up for this one.
